Ornamental Plant Boutique was born out of a love and respect for horticulture and a desire to help people become successful plant owners.
We specialize in houseplants and handmade pots. All our plants are healthy and selected by hand.

Meet Janet
Janet Shepherd is the owner of Ornamental Plant Boutique. She is an Oceanside resident and plant enthusiast. Her business grew out of her respect for horticulture and a love of living in a house full of beautiful plants. Mom to Vida and Wyn, Janet spends a lot of time with her kids in their garden, which is in constant metamorphosis.
Janet grew up in Miami, Florida, surrounded by a lush tropical landscape. Her mother kept pothos plants constantly growing in jars and bottles of water around the house. In her 20s, Janet had an opportunity to work in a greenhouse in Rhode Island, and a true love of plants was born. Upon moving to California in 2004, Janet was lucky enough to get a job at the former Cedros Gardens in Solana Beach where she became Nursery Manager and continued to learn a plethora of important tips and practices of horticulture blended with creative design.
Ornamental Plant Boutique opened in 2019 as part of The Rising Co. co-op in Oceanside, California. All plants are hand selected each week by Janet, and amidst the lush foliage, you’ll also find locally handmade pots and an assortment of books and tools to help you keep your plants happy and healthy.
